NOSTALGIA FOODS CORPORATION today unveiled the first official Hall of Fame dedicated to the permanent archiving of discontinued snacks and carbonated beverages. The institution will preserve the recipes, packaging, and cultural impact of products removed from shelves for reasons of market performance, regulatory change, or strategic realignment.
“These formulations represent a lost chapter in American industrial food production,” said Chairman R. T. Kellerman. “We intend to treat each entry with the same archival rigor applied to any other cultural artifact.”
The Hall will be housed in the former Akron, Ohio distribution center and will open to trade visitors by appointment beginning Q3 1997.
